This box set contains 52 of ABBA's chart topping singles and 14 unreleased/multi-lingual songs on four CDs. The only compliation that has more ABBA is "The Complete Studio Recordings" which contains all 8 of ABBA's albums, including unreleased/multi-lingual versions, and a 9th CD with demos for a total of 122 songs. Also included in "The Complete Studio Recordings" are two DVDs with performances and the history of ABBA. There are three big draw backs of "The Complete Studio Recordings". First, it's extremely rare: I haven't seen it on eBay with everything included. Second, if you find it on another site, for example Amazon, it's very expensive. Finally, there are two versions of this set: Canadian and European. You need to make sure you get the right version for your area or have an all region DVD player to play the DVDs. With all that said, the "Thank You for the Music" box set has the most bang for the buck for all you ABBA fans out there and is readily available. Get it and enjoy.Read full review
This is some of the most well- written, produced, played and sung music ever. There's good reason why this group was bigger than anyone else worldwide in the 70's and early 80's, and has been influencial from 80's music to dance to techno. The only thing that could have made this box set better is if it somehow included Frida's Phil Collins produced solo hit "I Know There's Something Going On."
I have been an ABBA fan since they were performing together. I have most of their LP's. I purchased this set when it first came out but used it so much that a couple of the CD's would no longer played correctly. This set is like new. My favorite has become disk number 4.
