As I already stated, I'm not a video card expert, Overclock-er, or a Gamer. Here's what I can tell you about this card: 1) AGP 8x (4x compatible). That seems like a no-brainer, but IDK how many times people have tried to interchange PCI, AGP, and PCIe cards! 2) Required Power from the PS via a 4-pin Molex connector (should include an extension cable). 3) The output resolution settings this card offers are far more than my LCD monitor is capable of. So I'm sure no matter what size monitor you have, this card can run it. I bought this card USED, and it did NOT come with the CD. Win7 x32 had some drivers that ran the card, and I was then able to go to the manufacturer's website, search thru it and find the x850 drivers. If I'm not mistaken, I think (can't remember for sure) they ONLY have VISTA drivers for this card, but the software & drivers that they had worked fine on my Win7 x32 system. Here's the ATI Link to those drivers: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Legacy/Pages/radeonaiw_vista32.aspx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.13&lang=EnglishRead full review
Perfect video card for a Windows 98 retro PC build. Overpowered by 1995 standards, but that is the whole point of getting one.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
I purchased this video card for a Dell Dimension 4500 Pentium 4 / 2.4GHz / 1.5GB RAM. Install was fine, as to be expected. It does REQUIRE you have an available Molex plug *do NOT forget this* The first thing I did when I opened to be box was remove the old thermal compound and replaced it with Arctic Silver 5. I highly recommend doing this as the old thermal compound was pretty much chalk. Replacing thermal compound on electronics once every 3-5 years extends equipment life greatly. Pros: -Works GREAT for Netflix -Much higher frame in games rate than previous Nvidia 6200 -Takes a lot of load off the CPU -Doesn't draw much power Cons: -Noticeable at startup. (fan spins down to be silent after a few seconds) -Older directX 9.0b support.
