Cute show about young, 30ish female lead figuring out her way in the world: romance, career, interpersonal/family relationships. Given chances (though a time-travel sort of portal w/a "therapist") to change or do-over occurrences she's had regrets over. The characters are engaging. I'd just anticipated a deeper show as I'd read reviews that said a cross between Ally McBeal & Twilight Zone.

This is a great show, and a very interesting mix of psychology, science fiction, and TV drama. This indeed fits it's desciption as a dramedy as it has many comedic elements. Anyone from Toronto will quickly realize the high profile of the city in the show from usage of areas downtown and when on an island they use the Scarborough Bluffs. There are constant references to landmarks, intersections in Toronto. The main protagonist Erica starts off single, living at home, well educated but struggling to lauch a career, and trying to make her way in the big city. She then meets Dr. Tom who gives her a very different type of therapy (don't want to give it away). The show gains depth as you get to know Erica, and continues into the concepts of "how this therapy works" and it's limits. Anyone who lives in a large city in Canada and is struggling to get it all together or remembers struggling to get it all together will definately appreciate Erica and her lifestyle and the challenge in making things work out the way she wants. Overall a really interesting show definitely worth seeing. One of the best Canadian shows I have ever watched!!!!Read full review
My new favorite TV series of all time, 'Being Erica' follows a young woman's path from despair to mastery, with life lessons from all of the world's greatest philosophies. And it does this while being entertaining and great fun, with an ensemble cast that you'll grow to love. Erin Karpluk (Erica) and Michael Riley (Dr. Tom) quickly become characters we really care about, and the writers are to be commended for having the courage to step out on a limb many times, going where no sitcom writers would ever dream of going - or dare to.

I purchased this set because I thoroughly enjoyed the tv show when it aired on television. I am looking forward to the second season.
Erica seems to go back in time alot but has trouble changing what's wrong to slightly change the future, i enjoyed watching the series, as it was very enjoyable and i can't wait for the second series, when it arrives on the screen.
