Its been years since I've sewn anything, and now that I've retired I decided to start sewing again. I wanted to start out with a simple but quality machine. I researched on-line for several weeks before purchasing this machine. I've had it for a month now and it is exactly that - very simple to operate. There are a variety of stitches available for the more experienced seamstress and you can't beat the price! The one feature I like best is the guided self-threader. With my less than perfect eyesight, it is a fantastic option that I didn't even know was on the machine. I am VERY happy with this machine and would recommend it to anyone.
I have had a sewing machine exactly like this one for twelve years and when it started not operating correctly I searched for another one. I found the exact one brand new and factory sealed in box. It works perfectly! I’m so excited to have another machine exactly like my old one! I’m looking forward to another twelve years of sewing with it!

i bought the brother ce4000 sewing machine because i was looking for something easy to use for a beginner at sewing. the machine is even better than i expected, with clear instructions and easy to use mechanics. so far i have mad ea dress and several pair of pajama pants, all of which came out quite nicely, thanks to the easy ability to change stitches and make buttonholes, etc. i wouldn't hesitate to buy another brother products or recommend this one to a friend.
This was purchased as a gift and was a good value for the money. Has a lot of features and is very easy to use. It is also very light weight.
I've been sewing since I was 8 or 9 and I've sewn on every kind of machine out there, including my grandmother's old Singer Trundle that runs on foot pump power instead of electricity! I even have a Pfaff embroidery machine that I paid $3K for 10 years ago that needs a tune up and more up to date software. I bought this machine as a rescue from the Pfaff and boy, is it a DREAM!! It's amazing for a portable, lightweight (I have a back injury and lift heavy items) machine. It's straight forward to use, even the myriad of decorative stitches. I priced this machine everywhere and was actually able to purchase a better machine than I originally planned because the refurbished machine is so inexpensive. I love the oversized sewing table, though I haven't gotten it exactly level, yet. I look forward to getting to know it better, soon! This machine is a gem!! Buy it, use it -- thanks to Project Runway, sewing's back in style!Read full review
