This is a great book for anyone that is newly diagnosed with Celiac Disease. It has valuable information about what exactly the disease is, what hidden names to look out for, what alternatives to use in place of wheat (and their benefits), as well as a menu guide for starting a gluten free diet. In addition to be being extremely informative, it is an easy read, and it definitely helped me get started in the right direction. I was recently diagnosed with CD and my doctor did little more than tell me to stay away from gluten. It is very overwhelming in the beginning, as I would think anyone with CD would agree with, and this book has helped me in many ways, especially with my attitude and outlook. I went from feeling sorry for myself and concentrating on what I couldn't have, to realizing how much better I am going to feel and healthier I will be, and that there will be bumps along the way, but it is a learning process.Read full review
Written in a conversational, easy to understand tone, this book is like having a chat with a best friend. Not bogged down with scientific jargon, this guide presents the nitty gritty of what every celiac WANTS to know (which is different from needs to know). Answered simply are those questions that make the lifestyle easier (not simply the diagnosis understood). Celiac Disease is not just a diagnosis but lifestyle and this outstanding guide makes the lifestyle appear not only do able but even anjoyable as the barriers are removed and uncertainity disolved. A must read over and over again!
