The quality control of this chicken feeder needs to be better. The edges were razor sharp. Beware before you assemble. If you do have a hand file make sure you file the edges first. Being lightweight it does also needs a weight at one corner to make it stable. I would also like to see an assembly diagram and some hints for getting the chickens use to it. Apart from that my chickens are using it and have adapted well to it. Thank you

I followed good advice but could not train my chooks to use the device. They were simply terrified of the feeder. I locked it fully open for more than a week. Then set it in a half open position and the pedal was functional - for a fortnight. They never settled to feed because the movement of the lid (and light reflection) caused them to panic. l even tried painting the feeder to reduce the shiny reflection.

The edges were dangerously sharp. I had to file off the edges of the lid and step to prevent serious cuts to me, my kids and the poultry. The manufacturer should either finish the product safely or place a warning label on the sharp parts. As far as assembly it was easy and only took 5 mins to set up. The chooks and ducks are still unsure of the operation, but, they'll learn soon.

Size is as expected, quality is great. Came with blue protective plastic covering over all parts that is not removed before assembly so impossible to fully remove (stuck between layers of metal and screws/rivets) otherwise works fine and keeps feed dry and pests out. Would reccomend using a sharp tissue blade to remove blue covering neatly.
