A great reference for Southern Hemisphere observers
A great reference for amateur astronomers. Especially for southern hemisphere observers as most books of this nature are written by northern hemispherians. So many of the best objects (Omega Centauri, Eta Carinae etc) are not referenced. Each object is described and observational suggestions range from binocular to large telescopic observations. This includes sketches which seem to be somewhat neglected in todays imaging hype. And a wide range of objects are described. Highly recommended for all serious observers
Wonderful collection of Southern Hemisphere targets
Stephen [the author] covers a good variety of object types with wide view location maps, and a sufficient information on each object to give the reader a good overview.
