It was the night of the big show. The building was packed. Our band, The Cheese Weasels, was about to hit the stage. As I was warming up with lightning fast sweep-picking, I broke a string! The roar of screaming fans was deafening, but I could hear our assistant road manager say, "Your new strings just showed up!" A quick restring with my D'Addario 8-38 Electric Extra Super Lights and I was back in business. I started playing Wonderwall and a riot broke out. We hastily ran out the back.

    Bending the Strings

These are the best extra super skinny strings and as always new string sound so nice. When I started playing guitar back in the 60"s I used 9 to 42 sets. I would bend and brake 9 every once in a while. So over time I used heavier and heavier cause it was the thing to do. It's such a nice change to come back to super extra light gage, really fun to play. Lets see how till I brake one from stretching it to the limits.

    Too light, tuning off

Normally a great product. Too light of a gauge created intonation problems. Notes warbled somewhat. Go with 9's or 10's next time.

  • 8's? Sure, why not?

I usually play 10's, but thought I would try super light gauge strings on a guitar I don't play often... an old Warmoth Telecaster project guitar. Oh and what fun it was to play once the 8's were on and tuned up! 8's are just fun to play and what's wrong with that? Yes, you have to play differently and with a much lighter touch, but it has benefits. 1. You don't have to work so hard. Especially when it comes to bending. 2. Bends, bends, bends! Yes, you can do some pretty wild bends that aren't really possible without great effort using a heavier gauge string set. So, if you have an extra guitar that you don't use much, put 8's on it and have a little fun. You might surprise yourself and find that you like playing them.

  • Daddario extra super light guitar strings are the brightest strings yet!

It has been a long time, that I have heard these strings play, and I am not disappointed! These strings are so light I had to let my neck down a little, and with less tension on the guitar it is feeling like it is on vacation...a big releif from the heavier 10 that it is used to stretching. Instead of the pressure in string fretting, i have caught myself trying to put too much pressure on the guitar. These stri gs are the greatest! Thank you! So very much!

  • Hubby loves 'em, that's what counts...

Well, the Hubby LOVES these strings, he swears by them. So from that standpoint, they are an excellent deal..
