Great value compact speaker setup
Great value compact speaker setup, build quality is solid with nice finishing, comes with convenient remote and RCA to RCA or 3.5mm cables so all you need is something to plug it in to (or connect with Bluetooth :P). the front cover is removable so you can show off your speakers or you can leave it on to help protect them. Sound quality is quite nice overall for the price, my source material varies between 128k mp3 and ~3000k 24/96 flac played via an astel & kern jr (Wolfson WM8740 DAC) over line in, and while some detail is lost on the higher resolution recordings (as expected for the price) for the most part the sound reproduction (mids to highs in particular) is well done and is reasonably forgiving of lower quality source material. the low frequencies are probably the weakest part ... All in all a great buy and will do well in giving my ears a break from wearing headphones all the time :P

Loud, GREAT quality.
10/10 im even considering a second one like this (but the other model, 1200 i think) to use as theatre speakers for the tv. very loud, and no distortion at max volume. its a real "air moving" set of speakers. and very good for its price hard to match any other speakers with this quality and price. Highly recommend it!!

For sheer value for money Edifier always rate high in tech/sound magazine or website reviews. Now that I own a pair of Edifier R1700BT I can see/hear why. The stereo sound is music to my ears. I've proudly mounted them to my kitchen wall and they look almost as good as they sound. All you have to do is select your favorite music streaming app, iTunes, Spotify etc and after you initially pair your phone to the speakers, they will forever automatically connect every time you walk in to the room seamlessly. I have also connected these speakers via cables to my TV and they improve the sound immensely, they particularly shine with action movies, giving you that cinema quality sound to your TV. Also included is a 5 metre speaker connector cable, which allows you to spread your two speakers from one side of a room to the other, maximizing the stereo effect. I have also put a watt meter to the power cable and when you turn off the speakers via the remote control the speakers use 0.5 watts of power in standby, or if you can be bothered there is a hard switch on the back of the active speaker that you can put into the off position which prevents any standby power being used. In summary these speakers are 66 watts in total so it's not going to ghetto blast the paint off your wall but it puts out a decent amount of decibels, enough to get your neighbors complaining but not so loud that they call the police. I like these speakers so much I may buy another pair for the lounge and sell my expensive stereo system on eBay.

Great value, good sounding speakers.
Great sound for the money. Only negative, which is little, is that the bass is a bit "muddy". Not a crisp bass. Quite well built and powerful. Bluetooth is a bonus. I highly recommend these speakers. I'm using them as PC speakers. Removes the need for a big sub at my feet.

Great general purpose speakers.
Great speakers for the money. Easy to connect with bluetooth.The main reason I got these powered speakers was for my turntable however I ended up needingto get a preamp to get enough volume. Awesome for a minimalist turntable setup espeically if you have a newer turntable with a built in preamp.
