I have 2 of them, and I find it's performance so good I use one of them as a back up to my Epson 1280 Photo printer, only difference this little baby while it can't do the extra wide prints the 1280 can, I use it to do receipts and all my letter writing and more than just Photos, and still find it's photo quality is about nearly the same as my 1280, (maybe that's why Epson isn't doing much with it these days...why buy the more expensive machine if this one will do it for you .....it may be one of them printers that you might not find because it's dated....but I have seen them around and every time I do I'm tempted to buy another one just to have it around...only one thing about it I noticed...it does NOT like after market ink cartridges...it clogs up on them and uses ink faster than stink...but plug in a genuine Epson ink tank and it's back to near perfection every time...(and again print quality is just about as good as my 1280)Read full review
Although the Epson Stylus Photo 825 makes beautiful picture prints, including panoramic photo prints, it has two serious problems: (1) printing is much too slow compared to more modern printers; (2) the ink jet module is bound to eventually clog up, unless the printer is used every day. After a while, cleaning it proves to be very difficult. I bought a used unit from Amazon specifically to get a replacement ink jet module for an identical printer that I already owned but could no longer be used due to clogged ink jet module ports. Multiple attempts to clean it were not successful, and a replacement costs as much as some new printers.
I got my 825 when my apartment building's computer lab tossed it. "Broken" and "unusable." I'm pretty handy, and I got it fixed. I examined the printer top to bottom, found two HUGE chunks of cardboard (postcard stock) jammed in. I got them out and the printer's been amazing! I'm now looking for one I can buy as a backup. I had to remove one roller to get the paper jams out, and it keeps "popping up" and not allowing the printhead to print. Otherwise, it's like about the 3rd nicest printer I've owned. When it's clean, and Epson cartridges are in it, NICE photos! (I'm a professional photographer) "Do yourself a favor! Get one!" (AFTER I get mine! ;-) )
It sez I have a paper jam. So it will only print 1 page at a time, then about 3 minutes later I can print page 2 etc. etc. So basically, it does not work

Good photo printer but like most low end printers it has its quirks. The paper rests are flimsy, as is the flash drive mechanism. Drivers only work with XP or before. There is no 64 bit windows driver of any kind so don't expect it to work with XP64 or Vista. Linux has a driver for it if that is your interest. In general a printer that meets minimum standards for the home user.
