Easy to set up and run. After recalibrating my monitor and the printer, this is the first non-professional printer to consistently produce the color fidelity that I require for images processed in Photoshop. I also like the benefits of not having to change ink cartridges frequently. I would prefer that matte and gloss black printing use separate print heads and ink lines.
Wanted to use wider/scrapbook paper and wanted the true black-and-white printing option. Paired with our Silhouette Cameo, this is an amazing way to create colorful die-cut printing. And it makes great photographs. Super print quality. Will feed larger roll media but I haven't tried that yet. Wifi, which is very convenient.
This is a fantastic printer. Ink lasts a long time and you can print much larger images then the big box store consumer grade photo printers. This printer is a definite for the serious photographer. Pictures are accurate right out of the box but you can also download and install ICC profiles. The printer driver works perfectly with Windows 8.1. I went with this printer because my HP's would not integrate with Windows 8.1 correctly.
I bought this printer 3,5 years ago. Until then it was printing nice photos. But ink costs were very high, due to the continuous and unexpected head cleanings. A lot of ink got lost. Suddenly, a few weeks ago it stopped working well. The PK/MK ink did only print white pages. I did some maintenance as I always did before, but that did not help. I did an intense cleaning with special cleaning cartridges, I cleaned the printing head but nothing changed. I only printed 500 A4 pages. But I printed regularly. Every week I also did a nozzle check. I paid this printer 700 euro, and if I calculate the costs now, it is a very expensive printer. It's so sad, that Epson is selling such crap for such a high price. I think it's not right to produce something with such a short life span. I will never buy Epson again I guess. It's sad, but I will use professional lab printing services from now on. Read full review
