I like these strings because they are a bit heavier than most of the Ernie Ball "Slinky" series. I think they're great for playing rhythm guitar. They have a little more solid feel and tend to stay in tune a little better than the lighter "Slinky" strings. Gives a little more feeling similar to playing on an acoustic guitar, if that's what you're looking for. Not great for doing big bends, but still OK for 1/2 step bends and slides.

I am a professional musician...I am 56 years old and have been playing on Ernie Ball strings since i was 12...You cannot get a better set of strings for the money... Performance after performance they deliver the sound...Are there better strings? Certainly Elixir but you will pay 3X as much...Working musicians like myself have come to depend on this product to make a living but not compromise on sound quality.

Best string gauge for jazz and blues based rock on a Maple neck and 50,s single coil pick up.....might want to go to the next size bigger on the E 1st and B 2nd. Dont forget to tune down a whole step....and if you want to tune like Jimi bring the step up just a little to use the wang so you end up back a whole step down....that is why you see him constantly tuning back up after using the tremelo arm on a song...so he would try not to go past a whole step down...Jimi used south polarity pick ups so his tone was a little less focused...you can even see him tuning during a song...bigger strings, = bigger tone on a Maple neck....try it.

I bought these for my grandsons guitars. He said they sound the best out of all the other brands he has used. Since he likes them I totally recommend these guitar strings

I have used EB strings for many years. Lately I have been experimenting with different brands and guages. I really like the all nickel strings, but these are very close with just a little more high end bite for those dark sounding guitars. For 11's these strings are not as stiff as you might expect. Not much more tension than the all nickle. All nickle strings have a little less tension than steel. These sound great on Gibson les paul with p90s and my Gibson sg.
