This is an honest if account from John that unfortunately does not make for pleasant reading. Fogerty was a talented singer and guitarist who for a few years was a songwriting genius. The breakup of Creedence Clearwater Revival, ongoing disagreements with bandmates and poor treatment from entertainment mogul Saul Zaentz killed his gift. It’s a story that he’s told with unrelenting bitterness for going on 50 years, and apart from hearing how he found the joy of his life, there’s nothing new here. While its undeniable that he was badly treated - the plagiarism suit being the most obvious - Fogerty shows a bewildering inability to appreciate how his arrogant self-centred behaviour might have affected others. You’ve heard how he took control of CCR. Well much later in his life he still doesn’t get it. At a school concert where the dads are performing for their kids, he tells them to get off the stage while he sings a song for his wife. It’s a school concert John. For me, the biggest disappointment is his abandoning of his brother. Well, he played with Tom and sang with Tom on at least one of those albums, but will never admit it or refuses to recall it. I would have thought that if you lose your big brother in a tragic medical botch up, you’d think back to the good times of playing at his wedding, and singing with him on “Joyful Resurrection”. Apparently not. Read full review

Referring to the Record company "Fantasy Label" from stealing John and Creedence Souls....!!! Personally I could not have continued as John did,... I would have either been in prison for Murder, or on the boarder of suicide.... more than likely the former... If it wasnt for meeting Julie, I hate to think where John would be right now...?? Bless you Julie, and Bless you John for seeing it all through... I first heard Creedence at around 1968-69 at about age 7-8 in the roof of a schoolmates shed on a old player.. I remember listening to 'Down on the corner'...before we got chased away.. Later in life I was given "blue moon swamp" by chance from my mother in law..( she bought it by mistake.. and to my good fortune I loved it... ) I took my wife to Johns Swamp tour concert in Melbourne Australia, I would not have missed it ...!!! Great Man, Great Star, Great story but sad for John....Read full review
