At only 10mp, the resolution is minimal. Furthermore, there is a noticable lag time. Sometimes, the image stabilizer is a bit tricky. I recommend daylight, set piece shots for this camera. It is waterproof and rugged. If you used the monopod with it, you could achieve small to medium format pictures, assuming that you had optimal conditions. When zooming in video mode, the lenses makes a distracting whirring sound which will interfere with the audio. It's waterproof on a budget. Could be good for amateur camper or child's scouting activity. Easy to use!! There are newer and better waterproof cameras out there, but they cost double or triple what you can get one of these for.

This is a great vacation camera. Get a floating wrist strap and you are good to go! Easy to use, easy to maintain. Love that is is water, sand, and shock proof. (And compact to boot.) Takes very clear photos under water and on land. The best part? It's super affordable compared to other waterproof cameras and has tons of features.
I bought this camera because my husband and I do alot of hiking, kayaking and outdoor activities. I had good luck with Fujifilm in the past and I needed a waterproof camera so I thought I would try it. It is an excellent value for the money. Backpacking magazine named it the #1 digital camera for outdoor adventures 3 years in a row. The day after receiving my XP10 I went kayaking and was able to try it out. I took several pictures, dropped it into the water(and a couple times into the bottom of my kayak)...needless to say it was wet alot. I found that it easily with stood the stuff I put it through. I was worried about scratching the screen but it is pretty tough. The only things I found that I didn't like were several pictures had blurred areas from water drops(so be sure to dry the lens before taking a photo) and the new auto scene mode does not always chose what's best(just choose the scene mode yourself). Both of those things are easily correctable. I highly recommend this camera for water activities and outdoor adventures. Great scene modes, 5x optical zoom, Underwater mode, HD video(get a big memory card if you will use this feature), Waterproof, Dustproof, Shockproof,Freezeproof and an Excellent camera.Read full review
I have had several of this same model, my daughter has had several. This is a fantastic camera, but they don't hold up for long. Ours are used in the ocean, daily while snorkeling. We take care to follow all recommendations, rinse with fresh water, open and dry out, never in the water longer than recommended, etc.. But I have yet to make it all the way through a month before something goes wrong. I continue to buy them if they are less than 50 bucks or so because the ease of use combined with the excellent quality photos make it worth it. Even the xp20 (newer "better" model) is not as good as the xp 10/x11. Every now and then a manufacturer just gets everything perfect, this is one of those. Love this camera, just wish they'd hold up better.
Pros: I took this camera on a trip to central America. It takes great pictures,is easy to use and very durable. It has many user setable features. Its a great point and shoot camera that fits easily into a pocket when you just can't take a big bulky camera with you. Cons: You need to purchase a spare battery because battery life is short,About one day of shooting. The camera uses a battery pack not AA or AAA batteries so you must buy a battery made for this camera.I would much prefer it use standard batteries because a place to recharge a battery pack is not always available.(it can be charged from AC or a laptop useing the included USB charging cable)
