Great British Railway Journeys is excellent viewing even if you're not into trains.
I bought a set of the series for a keen railway enthusiast, he loved them, and I have watched them and as a woman, didn't think I could even sit through one viewing, but found it so interesting and an enjoyable watch. Michael Portillo makes the experience and knowledge so interesting that you can't wait to see the next episode. I highly recommend any of his series, and they make a great gift.
