I bought this LaserJet 4100n as my personal printer in my office, the community printer is also 4100n but is down the hall from me. So, I decided to get the same printer my office because, simply put, this printer is a work-horse. We are a mortage broker office and we print easily 2 reams of paper a day with our 20-40 page contracts, appraisals, title work, etc... and I have only seen it being worked on once in three years for new rollers. Its quite but not silent, but I don't care, I am in a sales environment not a hospital. I starts to print quickly even with cold starts. It's a great value!
This Old Printer HP4100N is a Workhorse and I use another HP4000N for the last 23 years. Mike Taylor from Midwest Dynamics was very courteous and excellent to work with. He was a very extremely professional individual and an added asset to any organization. Mike sent to me two very small printer items for the HP4100N Tray 1 Paper Drawer. I am over the moon on the Printer Operation and Performance and would consider it a pleasure to deal with Midwest Dynamics anytime in the future. Well Done, I am so pleased with the HP4100N Printer and a very satisfied customer. Don't hesitate to order anything from Midwest Dynamics, you won't be disappointed.

HP 4100 is a great printer. I have a total of 5. I had a 4000 too, for over 15 years, but it finally was just retired, only because its slow and the developer went. It had over 600K prints on it. I think its going to salvation army. I like the hp4100 them because they are fast and last forever. They can be found at reliable resellers like the www.thewyseguys@str-s.com. I just bought another one from these guys for only $150 shipped, (used, but refurbished). the toner, the rollers are all available on line for great prices too. Where can you buy a quality printer with a 6 month warranty for that price. If you look around, you will see these printers still in use in banks, auto dealerships, real estate offices, law offices, even in church offices! Why do they have them, because they are like tanks! they rarely break down and they last forever! Way to go HP!!Read full review
Fast & excellent print out. However, even with a good bit of RAM onboard, slows and stumbles on lots of photos/graphics in print job. Edit -Later set up as a network printer accessible via router; much faster, apparently the parallel printer card was stumbling block, Power use - when NOT in use is low enough that it paid to buy this, over holding on to my perfectly useable LJ4+
These workhorse printers can't be beat, especially at current prices. Typically superb print quality, standard is a 500-sheet paper tray. Cheap enough to throw away if they need anything more than rollers or a fuser and you don't want to fuss with a major tear-down. If you do want to tinker, there are so many of these printers out there that most replacement parts are readily available at very reasonable prices. AND you can get rebuilt toners right here on ebay, that do 6,000 to 10,000 pages, for a song. Also, unlike many newer printers, the toners don't quit at some chip-counter-limit. You can run the toners completely dry if you like. Windows (PostScript too!), Linux, and Mac drivers are tried and tested, and have been stable for years. Get one with a LAN card and you're all set for network printing. Other available options include power envelope feeder, additional 500-sheet paper trays, and duplex (2-sided printing) attachments.Read full review
