After using my touch pro (Fuze) for 2 years, with WinMo 6.1, with all its pros and cons, I decided to change. I need WinMo because of my work (security settings), and given WinPhone 7 is not there yet, I decided to go with this phone instead. on the software, WinMo 6.5 delivers: smooth scrolling, marketplace, touch friendly, easy connectivity.. and after upgrading to latest HTC stock ROM, the new Sense is right there, stable and USEFUL. 90% of phone functionality available right there, and the graphics are awesome (Weather!!) CONS: I really miss the camera back light though. I would change that useless "mute" button for a bright LED for my camera. ATnT bloatware: No need to explain too much, ATnT apps are there, embedded into the stock ROM and although you can manually remove some, others will remain, taking program memory. but you can workaround this by applying a cooked ROM, if you don't need ATnT warranty. EnergyROM fix most performance and bloatware problems... sweet! Overall, a very good phone that plays the role of a netbook. Great keyboard, great display, good enough battery life, GREAT sound. Excellent option if you are a little savvy on how to customize your phone, to have it the way you want itRead full review
Pro's: TouchFlo3d, Responsive keyboard, Customizable, Good control over phone functions, High quality screen resolution, Great photo camera even w/o a flash Con's: Sluggish at times due to Windows, Too much AT&Tware, Speaker is almost useless, Video camera is fair at best I've had the opportunity to play with a variety of the top smartphones, and the HTC Pure is above average but definitely not the best. Would I choose it over the Iphone? Maybe the earlier versions but certainly not the 3gs. How about the Droid? Take the lower camera res and enjoy a smoother operating system. The Hero? Nope still a smoother experience. Even though this phone can't beat those phones it does offer a good, fun experience for half the cost of those phones. The Pure doesn't switch to landscape as fast or consistently as the other phones and that can be a drag but I've heard this can be tweaked. However, the virtual keyboard is far more accurate to use than the iphone. The phone also does not offer much in the way of free applications installed i.e. gps like other phones but a little searching and tweaking and Voila!!! The interface is sort of cluttered compared to the iphone and may be inappropriate for less techie type users. The resistive screen is noticeably less user friendly to the fingers but the provided stylus works very well. Overall, if you're a techie type person who likes to really tweak their phone this could be fun for you plus you'll stand out from the crowd of Apple Fanboys but if you like a simple preconfigured phone setup then go with the iphone, droid, or hero.Read full review
I just got the phone. I liked that you can port your number without going into the Verizon store. The phone has a good sized screen and functions aplenty. My contacts and info transferred over nicely with the wi-fi. Sync went fine after installing the program that came on the disk. I do not like that the stylis is on the left hand bottom. As a right hander it should be on the right hand side. Also do not like that internet stays on even when you are one using it, manually have to shut it off. Like the lock feature as I carry mine in my pocket. Camera is real nice and takes great pictures. Storage of unit is REAL weak so get a large capacity micro SD card.
After using this device for a little over 2 months i was pleased with the wide variety of multimedia and business options; the feature set is truly impressive and sets a bar for the competition to aim for or maintain.Inclusive of a variety of IM and Mail clients and support for social network applications, Wifi, Wifi Routing, Fast 3G Data browsing, Bluetooth Support, a satisfying 3.2 Megapixel Camera, Clear loud Speakerphone/Music Player, Great call quality, integrated FM Radio, Music Player, Photo Album Support for editing and creation of MS Office Word, Excel & Powerpoint files, and the list goes on, if its mobile capable the TILT2 has it! It easily replaces my notebook pc while on the go. That being said all this is marred by a dated Touch-flo interface and buggy OS performance that cause hang-ups, sluggish performance, random reset and system freezing. This has been experienced and expressed in many forums but to date no certain fix has been found.Additionally, poor battery life and the Windows 6.5 menus can tend to cause a bit confusing/frustration for those new smartphone or windows phone users. I love my tilt 2 but it takes a bit of patience to live with it. A formidable smartphone with much potential, however the many and varied performance issue taint the users overall impression of the device.Read full review
I bought this phone as a successor to an iPhone 4, with an interim phone being what looked like Samsung's version of the Jitterbug. Basic functionality is just as good as the iPhone, with the processor being just as fast and the interface being easier to use than iOS. Only downsides in terms of software are Zune being inferior to iTunes, as well as the Windows app store being a fraction of the size of Apple's. Only downside in terms of hardware is the battery life, which is noticeably shorter than iPhone's. Otherwise, a great smartphone all around.
