Does the job but is not as strong as the one it replaced
It’s quite easy to fit but doesn’t fit in the original shroud that wraps around the clothes line. DO NOT take out the third screw on the other side. It holds the inner winding mechanism in place. The whole inner mechanism drops once this screw and the two screws that hold the handle are removed. Quite a job to lift it up and line it all up and put the screw in by yourself. The handle is held in place by two plastic clips that fit snugly on either side of the inner metal square drive shaft. These two plastic clips clip into a plastic sleeve to hold it in the shroud. If you walk past the handle and clip it with your thigh in the cold weather as I did, it snaps off quite easily where the clips join the handle. The plastic seems quite brittle. Hoping some good quality epoxy glue works and ... It’s quite easy to fit but doesn’t fit in the original shroud that wraps around the clothes line. DO NOT take out the third screw on the other side. Hills hoist winder handle
Not so dissapointed that its plastic, dissapointed the old one broke so easilly, then dissapointed how expensive the assembly is because you cant replace the broken part, its the whole handle asembly. Hills engineering quality really has fallen compared to the old all metal products, but you gotta have it or else replace the whole clothes line!
