This is a small and easy to use film/slide photo converter. I bought it to try and look at some old negatives. Some I didn't think I would be able to save, but to my surprise I was able to product a digital image from them. Now they were not super sharp but with a editor they look pretty good. You must keep in mind what kind of film was used because some film was great and some were grainy. Over all I think its worth the money.

First of all this thing is almost as old as the Kodachrome slides I wanted to process... but then again for $10 brand new, there is not a lot of room to whine. Small, Easy to use, Not compatible with newer computers. You will need to have an older computer handy, there are no drivers or software available for this little unit online so you are stuck using the supplied disc with drivers designed for Windows XP/Vista. luckily they do seem to function with the latest update of windows 10 as of 10/16/2019. All of the online resources turned out to be malicious malware out of Chechnya. The manufacturer does not offer any support for this little device and they do not offer any warranty protection so you might want to think about the $2 square plan if you care about using this more than the one time for that handful of old slides you found in grandmas garage when you were cleaning it out last summer. Overall the quality is about what you would expect for a 5 MP image, not exactly jaw dropping, but then again neither were grandpas photography skills during his photo shoot at the San Diego Zoo in 1972. You can actually view those old family photos and relive some of the memories without spending a fortune, I just hope you have a disc drive on that old 7 year old desktop you never got around to recycling yet, because you will need it. Wow people sure were stingy with their film back in the 60's. You can see 2 years worth of holidays on a single roll. Miss that Kodachrome look. Read full review

this product is easy to use and for the most part keeps things in focus however the color resolution is not always good. it does not seem to be able to find the right color and searches for the right brightness or right background color is eventually goes to black and white or brown and white. there is no settings to correct this malfunction.

My slides are very very old so it is difficult to determine if color and resolution are poor due to condition of slides, probably so. Product is easy to use though slow going with hundreds of slides.

Even though it was specced for upto Windows 7/Vista, it does work with Windows 10. The resolution question: 1st you see a medium sized window and the photo is a little fuzzy. Then you have to save it to manipulate it in any way, but the window that it is now showing in is tiny, sooo. It's a little time consuming to have to put the slides and negatives in the carriers. For what I paid for it though, it got the job done s.l.o.w.l.y. An I was able to solve the mystery of who that box of slides belongs too!
