This is a good basic guitar for those wanting their first 7-string. Ibanez made this one as a no-frills affordable axe that can get the job done. It's Korean made so you don't get all of the great attention to detail (such as the neck joint, wiring, initial setup, ect.). The neck profile could have been contoured a little better. It's thin, but the other 7 strings I've played seemed to fit the curvature of my hand a little better. Other than that, the pickups that come factory are pretty dull and the low "B" sounds muddy on just about any pickup setting. I replaced my pickups with a dimarzio duo-sonic, and dimarzio blaze humbuckers and now this thing sounds GREAT! The guitar is pretty light weight (Basswood body) and well balanced when playing sitting down. I also like that the bridge on this one is a fixed bridge because the guitar carries more sustain than if it had a tremelo. Overall, I'm happy with it.Read full review
This guitar was purchased used, and it arrived in pretty good shape (almost un-used). This was my first experience with a 7 string guitar, so i wanted a budget guitar to get me started so i can get used to the extra low-B string. Let me tell you, i was shocked on how well this guitar plays.....i really dont consider it a budget guitar! The neck is very slim for a 7 string, very flat and not as wide as one would think. Jumbo frets were a breeze to play. The bridge saddle could use a bit of re-inovation or design......dont get me wrong, they are good quality, but for hose who like their action super low (myself) the saddle screws may dig into your hand. I did set up the action to be about 1mm from the 12th fret (thats super low), and i didnt get any buzzing at all! No strings got choked out when doing any string bending either, this was shocking. Even the Low B string was buzz free and clear. Once i realized i was dealing with a 'decent guitar', i proceeded to really set this thing up good. Set up the action, adjusted truss rod, and re-intonate the saddles, adjust pickup height......wow. It now was a MORE than a budget guitar. After a great setup, this was just as good as my newer PRESTIGE Model Ibanez guitars. A different feel.....but playability was just as good. I however didnt get a chance to plug it in to "HEAR" it yet, i immediatly swapped out the bridge pickup with a 'Dimarzio Blaze Custom' upon arrival of this guitar. Stock Ibanez pickups are never really that great, so its just something i do on all my Ibanez guitars when i first get them. CONCLUSION: This is now my 5th Ibanez guitar, this is a great guitar for the price! Get it, set it up properly and you will be proud of yourself for finding such a great deal.Read full review
Slabs of maple, walnut and beechwood don't know if they are formed into a guitar by a high paid North American craftsman or by a modestly paid Asian craftsman. It is only a matter of how well-formed the wood is... Not who formed it or where it was formed. That being said, I will say the stock pickups on this guitar do leave a little to be desired. For that reason I like to replace the entire circuit with something custom to my liking. I am an industrial electrician and this is my 4th RG7321. All 4 of my other Ibanez 7 strings play beautifully and I really like (love?) them. They all have been upgraded with custom switching and different DiMarzio pickup combinations, and this one will be soon also. This guitar is referred to as an entry level 7 string. Ibanez has kept the cost down on these by cutting corners on the pickups. They are not bad pickups... It's just that there are some out there that are better. If you want to try out 7 string electric guitars these are beautiful and inexpensive. Once you get on to it and decide to devote more to it you can hot rod your little inexpensive guitar into a custom machine. Or, if you don't want to bother you can sell it again on ebay. I'll probably be one of the guys who bids on it because they are under-priced and under-rated. I love them!!!Read full review

This guitar handles fantastic. Not only does it feel and play great, but all the parts are solid as well. It is a great segway into 7-string playing as well. I have immediately felt confident with playing my usual way and occasionally hitting the low B for aesthetic effect. I have decided that in my hard rock and metal music I will only play Ibanez RGs if I can help it. There is one for you in your price range. Don't be afraid to pay a little more for the dimarzio pickups or the fancy wood necks. You'll end up with a guitar that contends well with guitars that cost twice as much. I am actually a bass player and have been playing 5-string bass for years. I got this guitar so I can write guitar parts more easily similar to how I play low-B bass. I find the RG7321 to be an excellent musical companion to the 5-string bass. Do not settle for the other gimicy, gaudy 7-strings on the market. The hundred or so dollars you save by purchasing these won't make a large difference compared to the many years of enjoyment you'll have playing the best guitar for your money. When you go Ibanez RG series, you won't go back. At least if you play hard rock and metal music. I don't speak for all genres.Read full review
I loved the flight case that came with it. It was molded perfectly to the guitar's fit. The overall tone of it is amazing. Ibanez is by far the best when it comes to solid body 7 strings. I decided to buy it for the pick-ups it came stocked with. I'm a huge Korn fan, and this guitar has the same pick-ups as thier K-7 models. Excellent all-round.
