The awning was what we needed in a particular outside area which needs shade in summer, however also wanted the full sun in winter. Our only mistake was to buy without a motor. Takes around 100 cranks to put out in total. Also not sure of wind rating with this product. Finally, if I am being picky I would have preferred the arms to be powder coated in black.

I am happy with this awning overall the only problem I had was in the assembling of it, the joining pieces for the roll and front channel are a very tight fit and very hard to get in and once in the holes for the screws don't line up had to use drill and bit to adjust the holes to get the screws in. Rest of the awning went together well. I used Stainless Steel dynabolts to fix to the brick wall not the supplied ones. For ease of operation, I made a hook from high tensile 3/16 steel rod and use a cordless drill on low speed to extend or retract the awning.

I put it up on the weekend and it looks great. My only problem was with the instructions, they worked well until putting the extension arms in place, a tricky manoeuvre which was not described, I had to work through it myself. Maybe a Youtube clip would help. The second one went up quickly.

The product it’s self is great, how ever more attention must be paid to the Instructions that come with the product. Eg pictures have to suit what is happening in your hand. The arms should have left and right much clearly displayed on them and not hidden behind the closed arms that have a warning not to cut tape the tape before your have installed blind. Maybe a UTUBE video would help. Yes I would buy another now that I have worked out how to assemble mine.
