Works for what I needed, a modded Dell Dimension 9200. O/C'd to 3.2Ghtz, 8GB (yes, 8 not the old manual information that says 4GB only..), two SSD's and a OC'd GTX 460. Works for what I needed.

I just upgraded my Dell Precison 390 X6600 to X6800 2.93 Ghz with 8Gi DRAM and loaded with Win 7. It works well as expected. Saved me money instead going to i5.

After receiving this processor in the mail, I removed a working core 2 CPU from a mobo, replaced it with this chip I got in the mail [wrapped in cardboard], Adam and nothing. The chip started smelling like hot electronics, but never turned on.

Nice boost from the 1,86 GHz Core2 Duo that it replaced. So far I haven't upgraded the CPU fan or the DDR2667 memory though I would like to. Windows experience scores went from 4.9 to 5.9 overall with processor going from 4.9 to 6.3.
I had an old intel bx 975 board so I decided to use this in a htpc server. I could not be happier. While the fan is loud under load the PC is located in my basement so this is not a problem. It might not be the latest and greatest but it does the job and more.
