Product Information

The Intel Pentium M 780 Dothan is a 2.26 GHz single core microprocessor that was founded on a high performance, low power Pentium microarchitecture. The RH80536GE0512M is an original manufacturer microprocessor that's optimized for a laptop or similar mobile device. It can be a viable replacement part to repair or upgrade laptops with a 479, H-PBGA479, or PPGA478 CPU socket. The Intel Pentium M 780 2.26 GHz microprocessor combines speed and efficiency into a single, well-designed product. It is the most powerful processor in Intel’s Pentium M line. Thanks to its hardware based security features, the Intel Pentium M 780 2.26 GHz microprocessor can reduce your computer's exposure to viruses and malicious attacks that try to insert code into the data buffer. The Intel Pentium M 780 2.26 GHz mobile microprocessor supports a 32 bit operating system. The Intel Pentium M 780 2.26 GHz microprocessor is a single core CPU that includes a power optimized, front side bus (FSB) unit that operates at a speed of 553 MHz. The FSB is the part of the processor that transfers data between different components in the chipset, making your applications quicker and more responsive. The Intel Pentium M 780 2.26 GHz microprocessor also contains 64KB of L1 cache memory and 2MB of L2 memory. The cache memory is a smaller, faster memory pool that stores the most frequently accessed data, so you don't need to wait for it to access the main system RAM. The device was manufactured using a 90 nanometer process. It contains 144 million transistors and a processing die size of 87 square millimeters. The processor also uses streaming SIMD extensions 2, which is based on the x86 instruction set.The Intel Pentium M 780 2.26 GHz microprocessor comes with a few different power saving modes so that you can go longer between battery charges. The Deeper Sleep mode puts the Pentium CPU into a low demand sleep state when it's not in use. In addition, the Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology dynamically adjusts the voltage and frequency of the CPU to meet the demands of the software. That can mean faster, smoother processing for your mobile tasks and applications. It can enable the processor to achieve high performance while meeting the power-saving needs of mobile systems. The Intel Pentium M 780 2.26 GHz mobile microprocessor reaches a maximum temperature of 100 degrees Celsius, or 212 degrees Fahrenheit, on the processor's die. It also has a thermal design power of 27 watts. This is the typical power dissipated by the device when it's operating at a normal frequency. It operates within a voltage range of 1.260 volts and 1.404 volts. The Intel Pentium M 780 2.26 GHz mobile microprocessor is an entry level processing device designed for basic tasks such as web browsing and multimedia. It can also handle some 3D games at lower settings. For laptops with a compatible motherboard, this Intel Pentium M 780 2.26 GHz microprocessor can provide speed, portability, and responsiveness. You can install this classic hardware in your motherboard's socket and get the reliable performance that this generation of mobile Pentium processors and CPUs is known for.

  • good processoer; I order two more for my other 2 dell inspirion 600m machines

works great. I was able to install windows 8.1 but not windows 10, on my dell inspirion 600m this processor works much faster than the stock processor which installed by the Dell manufacturer. however, the system indicates that it is operating at 1.7 speed, not the 2.26 as advertised. I don't understand why the speed is not 2.26 and there is no way to tweak the bios to make the processor work at any faster speed

  • Dell Latitude D610 CPU Upgrade

I've replaced the CPU in two (2) of my Dell D610 laptops that had the Intel 1.73Ghz CPU's with these "Intel 2.26Ghz" CPU and they work perfectly. I have a 3rd Dell D610 with the Intel 1.60Ghz CPU and ordered another Intel 2.26Ghz CPU and 19.5v @ 4.62A power supply charger for that laptop as well. NOTE: if you upgrade to this Intel 2.26Ghz CPU...You might want to invest in a power Supply charger that's 19.5v @ 4.62A because the stock Dell power supply charger is only a 19.5v @ 3.34A and you wont get the full performance of this Intel 2.26Ghz CPU and may even get a "Bios system Post" when you boot up your system after the installation telling you to upgrade your power supply or disable the BIOS System Post so you don't get the Post warning message.!!! You can still use your laptop...it will just perform as if it still has the lower 1.60Ghz, 1.73Ghz CPU. The reason I have 3 D601's is because I was just wanting to get a cheap D610 with a good screen and didn't expect the first one I bought was in new condition, It even had the clear plastic that covers the power and speaker buttons, So I just upgraded it with this 2Mb of Ram and this Intel 2.26Ghz CPU...Also ordered the 19.5v @4.62A power supply charger for it. I bought the 3rd D610 thinking it would be just for the screen and that one is like new as well so I've up the memory to 2GMb and bought this Intel 2.26Ghz CPU for it too. The screen on my original D610 started getting horizontal lines across the top but it stopped with only two lines after I bought the 1st new D610.

  • Great Buy for Dell D610

Purchased with scepticism. Would I get it, would it be fake. Went ahead and pulled the trigger. Got it in about 10 days and replaced my 1.86GHz Dell D610 processor following U Tube example. Works perfectly ! Runs a little hotter as shown on CPUID (90deg versus 83deg) when running Burn Test. Normal operation is at 800MHz, only runs at 2.26GHz when needed, so it stays cool most of the time. Great buy. Get one while they are still available. This is the fastest CPU available for the D610. Get a SSD and you’re set !

  • The chip is easy to install, but you have to take the laptop almost completely apart to access the chip. Pretty much like changing any other CPU

  • Upgrade from Pentium M 740 1.73GHZ

Wanted to breath life into an aging Sony Vaio VGN FS600 laptop. The processor it came with struggled to play YouTube videos and surfing the net on it was choppy. After the upgrade the old girl could play YouTube content even at 720p! Also, web browsing was now a lot smoother. Especially heavy sites. Very glad I got the chip.

  • Great buy!

This was purchased to upgrade my old Gateway. Works like a champ. Saved a little on battery life and the computer doesn't run nearly as hot.

  • A nice upgrade

Not a great increase in performance from a 1.6 ghz but the highest that I could find that was compatible for such an old computer. Price and shipping time were reasonable.

  • Upgrade for my old laptop

I did not afford this upgrade ten years ago, and recently I was just curious to get little bit more power to my old Asus laptop.
