The pair just purchased was to replace an earlier set of the same item which I'd used for 6 years. (Note: this item does not hold up well to being sat on -- hence the need for the replacement.) I have used this model headphone set for more than 6 years now to watch TV. I am hearing-impaired and wear hearing aids. These JVC HA-NC250 headphones are ON-ear rather than OVER-ear, which allows me to wear them without removing my hearing aids (as I have to do with over-ear headphones due to feedback). The sound quality is fine for listening to TV. But I also wear them listening to mostly classical music on my iPod when I go on long walks outdoors in the evening, and they are excellent for that. I recommend using good alkaline batteries rather than rechargeable batteries -- the alkalines last longer. There is quite a bit of plastic in the construction of these headphones, and they will break if you sit on them (like I did). They came with a good protective hard case for travel. The OEM ear pads wore out in a little less than 4 years. I replaced them with Vever brand pads purchased through Amazon, and those are holding up well.Read full review

Update: The noise-canceling function on these broke much sooner than I expected. I would not recommend them. They still work as headphones, however. I have really enjoyed these headphones. They have a great sound quality and the noise canceling function works well. They are lightweight and the case is nice. One downside I was not expecting is that the noise canceling function does not seem to do well while I'm moving a lot, like going for a run. This isn't so bad, I'm still able to use the noise cancellation when I run, but I have to be more aware about keeping my head still.

The sound quality from the headphones is good enough. My main purpose for buying these headphones is noise cancellation. The husband uses them when working from home and noises are distracting him! The higher pitch talking is a muffled pitch when wearing them; the lower bases are drowned out! You have to keep a AAA battery in them to operate properly, but it's really no problem. He wears them for hours at a time and says they're very comfortable and lightweight! In fact he wears his glasses with them and still has no issues! They come in a nice carrying case which makes it very easy to take with you when traveling! Great find for the price!! I would recommend!

It shipped quickly and is in very good used condition. This headphone was exactly what I was looking for: active noise cancellation that can be disabled, able to use noise cancellation w/out playing music, relative compact size w/ a durable case, lightweight, comfortable, and good sound quality... and a fraction of the cost of Bose! I'm looking forward to using it on my next plane trip!

I used these for the first time on an 8 hour flight. It cut out almost all of the airplane noise and the sound was very good.It was not as good as Bose but it is much less expensive.the on the ear feature did get uncomfortable on occasion but was easily solved by taking a short break. I really don't like over the ear headphones so for on the ear they are good.
