Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Synthesisers
The Venom is an odd duck. If you're buying it as a generic low-cost virtual analog synth, you should probably look elsewhere (Roland JD-Xi, Roland Boutique, Novation Mininova etc.) But if you're looking for something that sounds dirtier, grittier, more aggressive, a synth that screams its sound, then the Venom could be an interesting choice, especially considering the fact that it hasn't been very successful and you can find one on the used/refurb market for next to nothing. On-board controls are quite limited and you will need to use the (included) editor/llibrarian to fully program this synth.

I've just come back from Guitar Center browsing new controllers and good grief! The quality of MIDI controllers is absolutely the worst. They all feel like kids toys. The plastics bend. The controls are scratchy and it doesn't matter how much you pay the build quality is awful. Don't get me started on the light and plasticky keybeds. The new M-Audio Code 49 and the Akai MPK249 In particular don't feel like they will last six months. Contrast this with my old Axiom Pro 49. It's almost entirely made of plastic but it's heavy and solid and it doesn't creak. It's been going strong for the past six years and it doesn't feel like it's going to give up anytime soon. It's a pain to program because there's so many ways to configure it and I lament that there's no PC editor but once it's done then it works perfect every time. HyperControl is a dead protocol from what I can see but I use it as a control surface with Reaper and it's entirely MIDI driven. There are so many controls on this board. Even the numeric keypad can output MIDI messages and it will store 50 profiles if you are crazy enough to need them. I guess I'm stuck with this old tank because the modern stuff is no where near as good. I guess I'm now on the lookout for a spare.Read full review

If you are looking to bridge the gap between your DAW and the real world look no further. No matter what software you run, the Axiom Pro will make the music making experience more intuitive. The only thing I dislike about this product is how long it took me to buy it - should have had it for years. Don't hesitate, do yourself a favor and buy this thing now. The work flow will boost not only your efficiency, but also your creative prowess. I run this with ableton live, and honestly they should just sell this thing with every copy of the software - it really makes it that much better.
this synth is awesome - nasty, filthy sounds with good filter options & FM!

It is by far better keybaord, better keys and everything else that comes with it compared to the newer of its class.
