I put these on an old mountain bike which I converted to drop bars. Brakes are cantilevers, drivechain is all Shimano but road in the front with mountain on the rear. These work perfectly so far. I have 105 5700 on my road bike to compare to. I do find that the shift levers on the Shimanos are more comfortable when riding on the hoods, but the levers on the Microshift are reachable from the flat part of the bars behind the hoods. So it may depend a bit on how you ride. The only real criticism I have of these is the exposed gear cable routing. I've been spoiled by the completely hidden routing on my 105 levers. I've only been using them for a few weeks so I can't speak to longevity yet.

The shifters work smoothly and accurately. I like the like the three lever system better than the Shimano Ultegra two lever system. The only unknown is durability, but the quality seems to be good.I had to buy a Microshift derailleur also to get clean selection of the mid range gears. Great value for money!
