After 25+ years of DAW mixing with a mouse and keyboard, I'm really enjoying the hands-on approach to using my DAW. Most of my audio workflow centers around recording and mixing live bands in a multitrack format. I record with a console, but have always mixed only with the computer. Using the Mackie MCU Pro has given me a more intuitive feel for the music as I'm mixing it, in addition to speeding up the workflow a bit. I was looking for a control surface to control my DAW - Samplitude Pro X3. After researching many contenders, I concluded the Mackie MCU PRO was the best for my needs. This unit is built like a tank, and compliments my high end DAW perfectly. I especially like the fact that I can customize it exactly to suit my specific needs. It also works perfectly directly out of the box. I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to many years of production with it. Oh, it also serves very well as a control surface for my video editing software as well.
