This movie is enjoyable good fun, hilariously funny, its engaging, sad & sensitive, it pulls at your heart strings & brings a few tears to your eyes, the dance routines had great choreography, they were highly energetic & flashy. A powerhouse of actors Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Cody Horn, and Olivia Munn all turned in superb performances. All the male strippers put in great moving & grooving scenes but have no doubt Channing Tatum showed how versatile of an actor he is from the sensitive & serious side to the moving & grooving fun side; Tatum shined the biggest & brightest. Steven Soderbergh scenes were a bit slow in the beginning but picked up speed as the movie progressed. Reid Carolin's screenplay & the character Adam was inspired by Tatum's work as a stripper when he was 18. This movie stars(Channing Tatum)as Mike Lane a 30yr old construction worker & male stripper who enjoys the perks of his job with a single goal in mind. But with a twist of fate that will forever change him, Mike takes a down on his luck 19yr old college dropout Adam(Alex Pettyfer)under his wing & meets Adams sister (Cody Horn) introducing him to the male stripping industry of easy money, good times, easy women, alcohol & drugs.Read full review
Slow start...I would have turned it off during the first half if it hadn't been for the stripping routines. Even they weren't as hot as I'd hoped; in fact, except for Magic Mike (Channing Tatum), the guys weren't all that talented except for Dallas (Matthew McConaughey), a retired stripper who acted as emcee. I kept wondering why Dallas didn't perform, especially when one of the dancers passed out before his big number and no one else would step in, necessitating an awkward first-time performance by prop boy Adam (Alex Pettyfer). But wait! It gets better! By the end, everything that seems like a flaw or a loose end has been explained and resolved. Best of all, the film doesn't preach, or come down in favor of or against a career as a male stripper. Is being a male stripper really worse than being a college dropout who lies to get a construction job, then gets fired for stealing? Is being a 40-year-old stripper something to embrace, or be ashamed of? The second half, and particularly the final strip number, are excellent. I was left with a good feeling but couldn't quite forget the dull stretches in the first half, which could have used better editing.Read full review
Terrible acting to a bad storyline. Not the least bit interesting. I wanted to be entertained and have a happy experience. It was just plain boring.

It is an okay movie. But honestly, the sequel was a lot better. I loved the sequel. Part 1 was okay. Channing was hot as ever.

Not just a girl flick but it actually has a story line to the movie. Granted the story line could be any woman's fairytale come true but hey, even grown girls can dream!
