Very good quality floor mat, which protects the carpet whilst sliding with computer chair. I would recommend this product, very good price.

These are just thin mats that buckle and bend and should really be PUT STRAIGHT IN THE BIN WITH THE RUBBISH/RECYCLING. Dents are left from the chair, which at times makes it harder to roll than if it was on carpet. (and no I'm not fat!). The real kicker is, it's advertised as supposedly 5mm in thickness but that includes the sprigs that are meant to hold the mat in place, it's not the thickness of the actual body of the mat - its the mat plus the sprigs. As soon as it arrived rolled up (which then needs to be left out in the sun for it to flatten out) I was wondering how a 5mm thick sheet of plastic can be rolled up, I now know; its not 5mm.

1. It is NOT 5mm thick. It is about 2.4mm thick PLUS small plastic spikes about 2.5mm high spaced out in a grid pattern. (See image with listing) 2. It does not make any difference to an office chair with the mat laid over carpet. The chair does not roll on it. It feels the same without the mat. 3. It has a slightly blueish tint in the plastic which cheapens its appearance and makes it less transparent. 4. It arrives so tightly rolled up that two people are needed to unroll it and to put weights on it to keep it flat. 5. The strong odor/fumes from the plasticky material stay in the room for more than two days even with an open window. We do not use it and are making complaint to the supplier. It is rubbish and it is a rip off. ****Go to Ikea and buy a serious chair mat for the same price. Ikea's is strong and stable; odourless - more transparent than this Ebay one. It does not roll up. It IS ACTUALLY 5mm thick throughout. Read full review

I expected a mat that is 5mm thick. It is not it is a mat that is 2mm thick with carpet grips which make up the other 3mm. It is undulating on its surface I suspect from being rolled so tight. The chair will not freely roll and has similar resistance characteristics to the carpet pile. It replaces a mat which was 5mm; the same as the others in the office and the contrast is stark. A mathematical calculation of the surface area of the mat reveals that approximately 97.5% is 2mm and the carpet grips approximately 5mm in circumference placed at 25mm centres amount to the other 2.5%.

This mat was advertised as being 5 mm thick: the ad emphasised that this was the difference between this product and others like it. However, when it arrived, I found that the mat itself is no more than 2 mm thick. When you add the length of the small 'grippers' underneath (which is not usual practice in measuring such mats -- I've bought similar ones from a store, in person), it is still only about 4 mm at best. That is, the product does not measure up to what it promised.
