I'm not really in the usual Matchbox car demographic. In the 1960's, when I was a child, new Matchbox toys were rewards for good schoolwork, etc. They were cheap, but beautifully made - my brother and I still have many of our originals. Zoom forwards many years, and I have a three and a half year old nephew. I buy him small toys occasionally, and got him the police version of this truck, which he loved, simply because of the two dogs in the back. I thought it was a very, very cool toy the more I looked at it. It's bulbous ugliness was very appealing. I saw a picture of the military version, and that looked even better. So I bought one, and am going to do some work on it; not much, just dirty it up a bit, and add some chains, etc. I love it.
