I own several Maxpedition sling packs I use for bicycling and hiking; this is the largest. The single strap carry is comfortable for moderate loads of up to 15 or 20 pounds, and makes it very easy to access the contents without removing it from your back. There are plenty of pockets, and it's large enough even for lightweight backpack trips of several days in warm weather. The only problem with it is that they stopped making it!

Maxpedition make great quality milspec gear that can be used casually but just lasts. I've been after one of these for a while after a friend had one and I saw how good it was. We do some reasonable day trips where you can throw all manner of things in but be comfortable with a sling pack. Sometime for tourist or day trip wear a large "military" type traditional backpack looks out of place but can be too big also. Adjustable straps to make bigger/smaller and all the pockets and molle straps to add stuff it required. Looking forward to our next big tripping around to try it out for myself

It's a grate every day caring bag. On my first 1 day hiking trip I loaded this bag to its 90% capacity and it still was comfortable to carry throwout the all. I didn't find a compartment that saying " I here just for show".

I am going to use this for an EDC bag... Should fit what I need to get me home... Hopefully it never becomes necessary, but...
