The Genie makes setup very easy and the USB ports are very useful for connecting backup units via Ready Share. The Genie diagram of the network is handy and I intend to setup a wireless camera to view remotely through my iPhone. The aerials are a little loose and the led lights are very bright (although they can be turned off) but these are minor issues. When updating the firmware, don't follow the online instructions, but use the genie and just let it run through the process itself. It has an easy to reach on/off button for close down/restarting. Easy to connect to Apple devices and Windows and the Epson printer found the network easily. The LAN ports are fast for connecting to TV, Apple TV, Blu-Ray Player and PVR and they will connect wirelessly when I upgrade those units. I tested the internet speed over the wireless network and the Ethernet and there was no comparative loss of speed. Overall very happy.Read full review

Bought this D7800 and all it did was give me problems after 3 or so days. It would have no internet even tho the DSL LED would be on, my iMac would constantly be disconnected and most of my devices at home would dc also throughout the day. Constant powercycles fixes the issue but only for a short while. Intermittently would go slow even tho being a metre from it. Got this to replace an Asus AC68U but the interface is terrible compared to Asus's, even the App Genie was bad.Asus app is absolutely amazing compared to Netgears. Running on ADSL2 and had a minimum 14 devices with 3 gaming thought this would be able to cope but was worse. Perhaps I got a dud not sure but I returned to the shop. Netgear not for me sorry

While the specs on this device are stellar, I had a little difficulty configuring it...and I work in IT. Several times it dropped the internet connection, taking a few minutes to restore it again. And one device in my house connected to the wifi only to have it drop, reconnect and drop over and over again. I've done a heap of research and I think I might have the options figured out now, but setup was not easy.

The modem router was unfortunately faulty right out of the box and had issues picking up the dsl signal properly. Netgear support confirmed it was most likely a fault with the modem router and suggested I return it. Which understandably happens from time to time, it only becomes slightly more frustrating considering that this is supposed to be a premium high end product and was rather costly. Some further research showed that some other users had similar and or worse problems, but in saying that many also had good experiences. Due to my personal experience I opted to exchange for the d link Taipan. The unboxing of the taipan felt as though I had purchased a premium high end product where as the netgear did no such thing.

Very good modem and wifi coverage, bought it at a good price when eBay had the further 20% off! V happy customer indeed! Easy to install and I've had no issues - it's been 2-3 weeks and running smoothly. Don't forget to update the firmware once you install the modem!
