Reviews"Civil Procedure: Model Problems and Outstanding Answers takes the mystery out of Civil Procedure. Professor Scott Dodson puts the issues in context by showing how they might arise in the real world of litigation. By presenting realistic problems, he breaks down complex aspects of Civil Procedure into defined problems that can be more easily understood. Professor Dodson provides clear black and white examples and answers where they exist. He also explains where there are gray areas, which is just as important to a law student who must understand where the law both is and isn't clear. This is an easy to read resource that connects the classroom to what students need to know and understand." --TOM METZLOFF, Professor of Law, Duke University School of Law"Civil Procedure: Model Problems and Outstanding Answers is a unique and very effective study guide that systematically spans the content of a typical first-year civil procedure course. Professor Dodson's book is a wonderful resource for students who are looking both to test and to expand their understanding of civil procedure. The hypotheticals are accompanied by excellent sample answers and additional tools for enhancing student learning. The format and structure are very well suited for practicing exam-taking skills." --ADAM STEINMAN, Professor of Law, Seton Hall University School of Law"Professor Dodson's Civil Procedure is a 'must have' for law students and young lawyers alike. As always, Professor Dodson's writing is crisp and the substance is accurate and deep. In this study aide, rather than the conventional synopsis of the law followed by short hypotheticals, Professor Dodson provides students with a nuanced fact pattern against which they may hone their civil procedure skills. Most helpfully, Professor Dodson supplies sample answers--in the form of memoranda--for comparison. These sample memoranda will be a boon for students preparing for that long-essay question, as well as summer interns and young attorneys who are still perfecting their legal writing." --LUMEN N. MULLIGAN, Professor of Law, The University of Kansas School of Law "This is the most effective exam-preparation resource that I could recommend to students of Civil Procedure. Professor Dodson quite literally shows students how it's done by offering a model exposition of law and analytical method for every topic that might arise on a Civil Procedure exam. Students who make a careful study of Professor Dodson's suggested approaches will find themselves capable of adapting those approaches to virtually any hypothetical situation that their instructors can conjure. In so doing, those students will dramatically increase their chances of excelling on an exam." --PHILIP A. PUCILLO, Visiting Professor of Law, Michigan State University College of Law

SynopsisSummary Driven to create a resource to help those struggling in marriage, after nearly losing his own over 10 years ago, William Taylor has developed a comprehensive program to help couples avoid divorce and how to be happy in marriage. How do we rekindle the spark in our marriage? Many marriages start off strong, with couples spending most of their time together, and falling deeply in love with little effort. Over time though many of us come to a place where the "honeymoon is over" is over. The romance can begin to fade as the flowers, cards, letters and romantic gestures begin to slow down. Helping couples to rekindle and sustain the spark to create excitement again in their marriage again is one of the benefits of this marriage program. How do we reconnect in our marriage? Some couples get to a place marriage where somehow they end up living parallel lives both doing their own thing somehow going from doing everything together to doing almost nothing together. We don't talk to our spouse openly and deeply anymore, not letting them inside our hearts and minds. The long conversations which once drew us together can become a distant memory... Helping couples to find a path back to reconnection, to overcome marriage problems by explaining what causes us to lose our connection, and how to create a lasting connection is another benefit this program brings. How do we renew our marriage and start over? Even though it was over ten years ago, I still remember it like it was yesterday. I had no idea how I had gotten there-standing in my living room, the house packed in boxes, unsigned divorce papers in my hand. I remember not being able to look at the pictures of my kids with their beaming, playful, innocent smiles. It killed me inside to feel the sheer pain of loss as it finally hit me that I had reached the end of my marriage. After a year of hard work on both sides, my wife and I found restoration and renewal and we fell in love even more deeply. I shudder when I think of how very different my family's lives would have been had we stayed apart. That is what has driven me to develop a program to both show couples how to save a marriage and how to be happy in marriage. Providing a path back to renewal and starting over is one of the purposes of this marriage program. How can this program help "make our marriage work"? Imagine turning the key to your car, and it doesn't turn on. You know that "something" inside is broken but figuring out exactly what and how to fix it to get the car working again is beyond many of us...The same is true for our marriage problems. Whether that one component is feeling understood, accepted, loved, appreciated, beautiful, respected, supported, heard, desired or another component, if even one piece is broken, often our marriage will not work. It's when we know what pieces are broken and how to get them working again that we can make our marriage work again. What does Vol. 1 cover? -Why marriage seems easy at first, how to reconnect, how to bring back feelings of acceptance and how we fall in and out of love over time -How our expectations, life's stressors and the busyness life can affect our marriage and how and why many couples often find themselves living parallel lives -How and why over time, our love for our partner can fade, how a happy marriage can be created, and how our beliefs and mood our marriage. -How to effectively communicate (2 sessions) and How to manage conflict effectively (2 sessions) About Alex Carpenter LLC Alex Carpenter Publishing LLC is committed to providing the best in personal growth resources to improve the quality of people's lives. About William Taylor Will holds three Graduate degrees and is married to his high school sweetheart who he fell in love with over 20 years ago., In Civil Procedure: Model Problems and Outstanding Answers, Scott Dodson helps students demonstrate their knowledge of civil procedure in the structured and sophisticated manner that professors expect on law school exams. This book provides clear introductions to the major topics in civil procedure and includes the fact patterns and model answers most often found on Civil Procedure tests, followed by a comprehensive self-analysis section, giving students the opportunity to evaluate their own work. It prepares students by challenging them to use the law they learn in class while also explaining the way to best express the answer on law school exams., Students deem Civil Procedure to be one of the hardest classes in law school for good reason. Doctrines from personal jurisdiction to res judicata are difficult to apply to exam fact patterns, and the policies underlying the federal rules can be difficult to grasp. The course is a complex hybrid of common law, statutes, rules, and some constitutional doctrine. For the first time, Oxford University Press equips students with an accessible guide to acing this most challenging of law school tests.
