Having had a relation who flew Lancaster bombers, this book gave me an insight of what the pilot and crewmen went through during their many flight missions. Although their lives were on the block each time they flew, their apparent disregard for their own safety and focus on destroying the enemy came through as highlights on many of the pages of this book. Well written with great historical features and content.

Gives an enjoyably readable account of the role and experiences of the men in the RAAF who were serving in England during WW2 as part of Bomber Command. As an Australian, with an uncle who served in this theatre of war, it has given me a better understanding, knowledge and appreciation of just what was experienced by the young men during this time in our history. The book is written with anecdotal accounts of the experiences of many of these 'boys'. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and recommend it to all with an interest in personal stories and what it was really like at this time for those in this situation.
