Much improved over its predecessor TXSR 804 in our house. The operations and set up is a quantum leap over the old machine. Sound is great and picture quality superb. Grunty and many listening modes.

I have had the amp for 3 weeks now this is my first 7.1 amp in the past i have had 5.1 Yamaha amps and i love this new Onkyo amp so far it is easy to setup and use has great sound it makes my 5 year old Qacoustics 2000i speakers sound even better than they did with my 6 year old 5.1 Yamaha amp. My only complaint is the Andriod App needs some work on it Onkyo should take a leaf out of Yamaha book on how to make a good Android App Would recommend this amp to a friend to buy P.s. Would of been 5 stars if the Android App was better

Takes a lots of fiddling with HDMI cables and on-screen menus to connect it to mini-PC and achieve a stable picture and audio signal. Not every HDMI cable gives stable connection. Not every HDMI socket is equal. Replacing the old and disfunctional SONY HT-DDW5500 required certain technical trickery in order to use the old amplified subwoofer. read about standalone-sony-muteki-subwoofer if you have similar problem. The end result is great, but it took hours.
