A book of Christian and secular poetry from the Los Angeles poet, Kevin Thornburgh. He has four other books on Amazon.com and can be reached at: thornburghkevin@yahoo.com. His website is kevinthornburgh.yolasite.com. The first section includes poems of a Christian nature and the second section includes secular poems. Thornburgh has been writing for thirty years and sometimes writes memoir, as in the San Gabriel Valley Stories. This chap-book is completely poetry, in free verse, influenced by the American scene. Many of the poems were published in magazine form first. The poet lives in his childhood home in West Covina, California, a suburb of Los Angeles, where he went to high school(Covina High, 1977), and to which he has returned.
Kevin Thornburgh is a graduate of Antioch LA (MFA Creative Writing) and earned an NEH to study at REED college. His BA is from Cal State Fullerton and his single subject teaching credential from Cal State LA where he was Phi Beta Kappa. He taught high school for seven years and now is a full time writer.
