John Bede writes a very good and compelling story however the passing of time does fade the memory and there are a few small errors in the timeline and who was who but one one must understand at the same time that many of the characters were still alive at the time of original writing. In all a very enjoyable & entertaining read. I also wish that some areas of the book had been elaborated on more such as armaments and technical details. It does not contain the gore and sadness that some other military non-fiction books contain; re: Sailors To The End.

Absolutely wonderful. A classic work regarding Australians at war in Bomber Command. Half of those who volunteered for Bomber Command did not return home. 55 573 young men died serving their country. Their average age was 22 years old. These men have been long over-looked and deserve recognition for their efforts. War is hideous and not to be glorified but it must be recorded. Well done. A fabulous record of a terrible time beyond our imagination. RIP/RIF to you all.
