Good: compact size, good built Bad: difficult to configure from a mobile phone (the built-in admin panel poorly supports mobile browsers), the built-in DHCP server works visibly slower than my router's native one (i.e. initial connection to this extender takes longer than connecting to the router, which is also Netgear) Conclusion: once you set it up it's perfectly fine (if you don't mind slower initial connection)

At this time I am NOT getting any improvement to my WiFi spread. I was un able to make it work, finally a fami;y member helped , and it isn't doing any thing. I do NOT wish to judge it at this time.

The router's ridiculously bulky and its performance on the 2.4GHz, though fast, is slower than its top competitor. Its Web interface doesn't offer access to its parental control feature, and the Netgear Genie mobile app doesn't work over the Internet. I bought this unit when CNET had a preliminary (rather prototype) SW load with a "good" review. Bad mistake. While the 5Gb band works, I doubt it ever met published specs. The 2Gb band has never worked well even with countless SW updates. When I spend top-dollar for any product I don't want to be the BETA tester. I stopped counting the updates when they went into TRIPLE DIGITS, ridiculous. I have since bought a Linksys.

Easy Setup. Range: I get full Wi-Fi bars in my 4 bedroom house and half bars next-door. Gaming: Smart Beam gives it a turbo for downloading and World Of Warship. Tips: buy a cheap 30gb usb so you and family can all watch shows or play games from storing it on the usb.
