I have an old Netgear D6300 modem and an old EXD6200v1 extender. Needed an extra extender and connected each extender to the modem. I was able to fast lane(?) separate channels from the modem to each of my extenders to make each faster than having the 2.4 and 5GHz going to both. At first when I set up the second EX6200v2 I completely lost my internet connection on the modem. But after running the Modem’s diagnostics and checking a few things on Netgear Genie for the modem, the internet connection repaired itself and everything works great. My adult daughter uses the 5.4 GHz from the modem to the new EX6200v2 for teaching over Skype. She has a pretty complex setup for teaching music over video conference lessons and she found Skype actually worked better than Zoom. Everything is connected wirelessly and we don’t yet have broadband, only ADSL2. My daughter does connect her laptop to the EX6200 using a LAN cable and the unit has 5 LAN connection, which is great. When setting up make sure you update the firmware on your EX6200v2 first once connected to the Netgear Genie. Also check that your modem and any other extender has up to date firmware.Read full review
