  • Light with excellent sharpness, superb stabilisation, and quick AF

This is an excellent budget near super telephoto zoom for 24MP Nikon APS-C SLRs. Tested with a D3300. For subjects up to 200-300m away, excellent sharpness and contrast are demonstrated from image center to edge between 70-250mm when used at f8. Beyond 250mm, excellent center performance but weak corners. At very far distances (e.g., landscapes), my sample was average in sharpness at all focal lengths and apertures. IS/VR is superb with up to 4 shutter speeds of stabilisation. Focusing is lightning quick with its AF-P mechanism - the lack of an AF on/off switch on the lens itself should not be a deal breaker for most entry level photographers. Versus the Nikon 55-200mm VR II it's a better lens optically and has a significantly longer reach. Very lightweight lens that is great for travel. Recommended.

  • A lightweight snappy focusing sharp image producing telephoto zoom lens

The Nikon AF-P DX 70-300mm f4.5-6.3 G ED VR Lens is is a great wildlife, surf or birding lens when coupled to a Nikon V1 camera with the FT-1 adapter. This combination is light weight snappy focusing, provides a 190mm to 810mm field of view and produces very sharp images. This is my go-to lens when I want to explore new areas for the available wildlife. I would recommend this lens to anyone with a Nikon crop sensor camera.

  • An okay lens.

As I use it on my full frame camera, it has a crop factor. Not as sharp/crisp as more expensive ones, but does what I need. Definitely worth it.

  • Amazing value.

I have some big, expensive, fast Nikon zooms but now choose to use this cheap one once the sun is up. Very sharp and light. Auto focus usually quick but can hunt a little with confusing subjects and foreground. On D7200 half press the shutter button a few times and it will give you some options or use single point focus.

Very happy with the results I've been getting so far.

  • Useless

It doesn't focus on my D60. Waste of money. It does fit on the camera but it won't focus either on auto or on manual.
