The new unit works good. If they were manufactured with any amount of serviceability buying a replace wouldn't be necessary. Probably by design. Tuning is easy. The only adjustment besides idle speed is low speed mixture and it can only be turned 1/4 of a turn.

1999 model Homelite trimmer that has never given me a problem in 17 years of ownership until last week. Trimmer would not run, had fuel at the carburetor and had spark. One thing I did notice was everytime I pulled the spark plug to inspect it was wet with fuel. Time for a carburetor, didn't want to mess with rebuilding it. Installed this new carburetor and it runs like new again. I forgot how well it can run.
