first things first I purchased a JS1000 Black Pearl 07 J Craft Prestige & Edge Pro!! These suckers are sweet little hot rod guitars. They are really well built and nice and light and very comfortable to play, hold sit or stand. It's tremolo is really nice, Ibanez being my favorite type of bridge but I prefer the original edge a bit more. The pickups are SONIC!! Harmonics just slam out of it and sustain and you can hear that famous Satriani Sound!! Great guitar highly recommend it especially since you can grab a nice one for $675.00!! Be careful there are a lot of different types of these out and depending on the year they have different necks, tremolo, and maybe other components. (-+-^-+-)

This is by far the best guitar I have played. Action was set up professionally and that is important. I played a JS1200 in Sam Ash and it was not set up well. When this guitar is set up well it is really a pleasure ot play. I really like the neck and the smaller frets. Finish is also really cool. The black hardware is also really a nice touch. It is sort of a black chrome, rather than painted metal. Pickups are good and the coil slpitting gives a lot of options. The tremolo is really good. I like this better than my floyd rose. Feels more ergonomical and has a very smooth movement. One con on this guitar is that when the trem bar will hit the volume pot when the high pass filter is engaged. Honestly, i cannot tellmuch difference in the guitars sounds with this engaged so I do not use it. I highly recommend this guitar!Read full review
If you enjoy playing some of joe's older stuff this is definitely the guitar! I love this setup. I'm originally a bassist and love low tones. The js1000 still has the dimarzio paf pro pickup in the neck position witch always had a lower tone then the newer paf joe. The feel of the guitar neck is great. And if you have smaller hands like me it's very comfortable to play. It's also pretty light. So it's easy on the back for long gigs or just playing around.

The J Craft JS1000 is a great-sounding and gorgeous musical instrument, and of great quality. The tremolo is excellent and the DiMarzio pick-ups provide great sounds. It appears to be a very lightweight guitar, but it is not. The neck is like a Fender's or Gibson's, wide and robust, which makes it a bit uncomfortable to hold and play. It does not mean it is a disadvantage though, it takes time to get used to it. But because of it, the guitar has a great tone and sustain. Sound is fat and big. If the guitar were correctly set up, it would sound much better and the grip more comfortable.
