90% of the time I can go into a movie, either theater or rental and call it scene for scene right up until the end. Because as we all know, Hollywoods well of creativity has truly run dry these days, it's just the way it is. They are that predictable. As long as you have a brief synopsis (which usually starts with a trailer) before hand, it's fairly easy for anyone to figure out what is going to happen next. Red Eye was no exception. But as predictable as Red Eye was, it brought something good to the table that is both rare and treasured amongst the most hardcore movie goer...it had fluidity. Even though I knew the outcome of this movie (it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out), it was completely fun to watch the writer/director's intention from start to finish. Even though I knew the "Bad Guys" would fail at some point, it was still entertaining. The fluidity, as I stated earlier is what made this movie key to that "entertainment". Events unfolded clear and simple from the start and each characters motives was clear. The pieces fell together quite nicely. At first I was concerned that they'd drag out the suspense of the two main characters, both victim girl and that of bad guy using said girl for a conspiracy, in this case an assassination. But it didn't take long for the action and plot to unfold. The last half hour was a great, although predictable romp of "not this time bad guy". Confrontation and chase ensues and the good guy, or in this case, gal wins in the end saving the day. It's the better of this type of movie I've seen in a long while. I'd definitely watch it again knowing what I know and knew all along. It's just plain fun to watch. Everyone likes it when the underdog wins and this movie makes it happen. It'll never be remembered as a classic, but it definitely won't be completely forgotten. It's the perfect popcorn movie.Read full review
I've always been sceptical with Wes Craven type movies as he typically creates Horror movie. He's an excellent director, I just don't care for the real horror movies where I need to close my eyes for a length of time. This is quite an unusual movie for Wes Craven. I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen and this is not why it was called Red Eye ;D (Lisa) Rachel McAdams is a very professional woman with great intelligence. She was always thinking! You can really learn alot by watching this moving. Be sure you have your popcorn and treats before you watch the movie. As I said, I couldn't keep my eyes off the movie and didn't want to pause it to make popcorn. Enjoy it!
I thought it was a good movie but with national security at stake why doesn't our government screen and censor more movies that are being made and played. I am available for hire to screen movies and tell you what I think. With this movie they show you in the beginning how to smuggle a rocket launcher through customs. Just pack it at the bottom of a crate filled with smelly fish and ice. Then they show the coast guard investigating a suspicious fishing boat in the harbor. When the coast guard get to the boat they see a couple of guys fishing and a couple of other men on board. They search the boat to find nothing. When the men are sure that the coast guard are gone they reel in the rocket launcher which is attached to the fisherman's line. WOW, do they not see, were not the only ones seeing this. How healthy do you think this is. Check out my reviews as I will share my thoughts and hope to get yours. JamesRead full review
I liked the movie and had not planned on it. I only bought the dvd because I'm a Rachel McAdams fan. The movie is an edge of your seat thriller from start to finish. All the cast were really good and Wes Carven is an excellant director. I quickly became attached to the cast and formed an immediate dislike for the villian (Cillian Murphy). I also liked the fact the director did not try to gross me out with so much blood and gore. It was refreshing to see an adult film without all the dirty talk. On the negative side, I would to have seen Rachel McAdams have a love interest.
I really enjoyed this movie. I thought I would hate it because it was a Wes Craven film and I haven't really liked any of them in the past,But this one was different. This movie is full of "Kids, I'm sorry but we can't poo poo and pee pee." And thats something that I can really appreciate. Wes also brought back the use of an ascot on a lead character(Creepy eyes). When I saw him running around after being stabbed in the throat with a giant pen I thought "Could this really happen?" So I called my Doctor and he said "As long as you tie an ascot around your throat then it is possible." I was glad to learn this information. Anyways, rent this movie. It's entertaining. Just make sure that the copy you rent isn't scratched. Some how crybaby face magically transported from running through the airport into driving recklessly in a stolen car.How did she get past airport security without her purse? Please, it's practically scientific fact that a woman can't go anywhere without her purse.Crybaby face also sent a telepathic message to her friend (working at the hotel) to get "Kid's, I'm sorry but we can't poo poo and pee pee" out of their hotel room before the giant missile exploded their room only. I was also wondering if this was possible. So I called the army and asked, "If I were to shoot a missile into one specific hotel room only would it just blow up that room or the entire floor or maybe even building? I was glad to find out that indeed it would only blow up whatever room I was aiming for.I hope I didn't spoil the movie to much for you! EnjoyRead full review
