I'll just start with the only thing that disappointed me. The couplers that come on this really should be replaced with Kaydees'. They're 'ok' if you don't mind an occasional decouple over your decoupling magnets, even when you never stopped to decouple. Sometimes on curves (my layout has minimum curves of 28" Radius) and I still get decouples, even on 32"r. Other than that, the pricing on these is fantastic. The LOK Sound decoder is almost worth the price of this loco all by itself. The motor quality is fantastic, they're very well balanced and quiet. More quiet than several other brands I've got (top name brands). Exterior detail is very nice, and even with all that detail, these still can be handled without fear of breaking all sorts of parts hanging loose. They're not without those parts, but there's also areas where you can grab without fear of damage, which are not really available on at least one other brand I have (of the same model loco). I bought 3 of these, they work very nicely in a consist and maintain pretty close to perfect speed while configured together. Plenty close enough to not have additional power draw from them fighting each other. Sound is excellent. Pretty much to be expected with a LokSound decoder. I have not even opened these to see what speaker they use but it's a nice one. These sound great. These also come preconfigured to use RailCom Plus. All I did was place these on my programming track and pow, they were found by my DCC system and configured 100%. I added the photo I took and my configuration was complete. No CVs to adjust, not even the Railcom enable CV.Read full review

I have done a lot of diesel DCC sound installs. The Sound is very impressive and really makes this model come alive.
