While the combat is very clunky and the puzzles can be repetitive, I thought the game was really solid overall. If you're a fan of the films, there's a lot of fan service including traps used in the movies and appearances by characters like Amanda and Obi. Jigsaw is also voiced by Tobin Bell, so it feels very authentic. The story exists outside of the film series' canon, so it was cool to see an alternate storyline for Detective Tapp.

Saw is a surprisingly fun game considering all of the crappy movie-to-game adaptations. It'll appeal more to those who are a fan of the Saw movie series but would definitely be fun for everyone. It's a game that really makes you think in order to advance and it gives you a feeling of accomplishment while you're playing it. The puzzles it makes you solve are pretty fun, some a lot harder and more thought provoking than others and a few are kind of repetitive, but nothing really to worry about. If you read more in-depth reviews from more qualified people you'll probably notice how they say the combat in this game is poor and the weakest part of the game...they're exactly right. Your character is extremely sluggish and just seems like he isn't very responsive to your commands. Think Batman Arkham Asylum...but the exact opposite. The good thing about this is that there really isn't much combat. It consists mostly of you finding your way around, saving people from traps, and solving puzzles. I don't want to make this an overly long review so my final words are that if you're a fan of horror survival/puzzle solving games, then you should get this game. If you're a fan of the Saw movie series and own an Xbox 360, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't have this game.Read full review
I have been a fan of the Saw movies since they came out. That being said, I have yet to see Saw VI, because my girlfriend has yet to see any of them (crazy I know!). I dont want to have to explain it all then get confused myself.. anyways. I dont know if the game is linked to the newest movie, but I didnt see many references to any other Saw movie. The game box says there are some answers to the movie, so I assume it is about Saw VI. This is a very fun game if you are a fan of the puzzles and the films. The puzzles do get pretty repetetive, but still good. There are alot of circuit-completing and pipe matching puzzles. There are also mini puzzles for each door lock you pick and weapon crates have a gear puzzle to complete. All in all, pretty good. The combat system is pretty bad. The best way to go about it, is to anticipate and strike early. If your opponent gets the first hit, you wont be able to recover and hit back unless you move and restart. There are a ton of weapons you can use, including fists, hatchets, molotovs, nail bats, guns, mines, and shotgun traps. If you are looking for easy achivement points, this game is pretty easy. Basically just killing one person with each weapon type and completing the story. Some people say that this game will take 6-7 hours, but it took me closer to 11. But I searched everything and got all the achivements in one run. Overall, this game is 3.5/5. There is no multiplayer here and only 2 difficulty modes, neither is difficult. Even if there was multiplayer deathmatch, it would be bad :( A good game to rent for a week, but not to own. If this was helpful, please click "Yes" below. Thanks.Read full review
I bought this game thinking it would be really bad. I had seen reviews and watched people tear it apart. However, if you are fan of the series, you will love it. The puzzles are so cool and the story is fun too. I admit that the combat is kind of weak, but they didn't make the game for that so I don't think so much judging should go into that. The puzzles are so fun and can be frustrating but this makes them enjoyable. I am addicted and can't stop playing! I do not think this game is worth the full $60. If you find it for $40 or less, I say go for it! It is a nice change of pace from the same old zombie games...no offense..
I found the game to be fun and interesting. With crazy games and opponents around every corner it never gets old. Overall the game play is nice & smoooth... Controls are easy & the graphix's are good. I do not think it is worth the full MSRP or even the price at gamestop, that is why I bought a nice copy on eBay for under half the retail price. I give the game an A-, fun and worth the time to play...
