Just received my first Samsung R3 and very happy with the physical appearance and ordered a second to use as by back speakers for my surround sound. The Samsung app for IOS is great and made this one of the easiest WiFi setups I have ever done! Sound quality is good, does seem to get over driven at very high volumes, but has also ordered an R5 to see if that will handle much louder volume. Not sure it is needed as the sound at a normal level sounds good and can be heard in multiple rooms now.

Speaker is not user friendly! Sound when working is great! But the WIFI has issues staying connected. Cannot get through a movie without problems. I purchased the suhd 8500 tv, the 7500r soundbar, the blueraydisc player "most expensive 4k! and two R3 speakers. The Samsung package should work fine according to Samsung, Best Buy and GEEKS! Not so. Of course they say get the most expensive router and bridge it with the one I have and maybe I should buy a 5 hundred dollar receiver! there goes the wireless!!!! disappointed!!!!!!!!!

The speaker looks and sounds great. I had one of these units already and wanted the second for surround sound. Samsung touts these units as a "pair" and for "multiroom" listening. Unfortunately only ONE will pair up to a A SAMSUNG 65" SMART TV AT A TIME. When one pairs, the second one will disconnect. The speaker is great but Samsung's advertisement as SURROUND CAPABLE is completely misleading. If anyone knows how to pair up 2 at the same time...please let me know. Samsung's help line could not help me but the tech DID READ TO ME FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES FROM HIS "R3" CAN/CAN'T LIST....CAN'T LEAVE AN ADDRESS LINK SO JUST "REPLY"

Pros: -Omnidirectional sound is wonderful: I use it in the kitchen while I clean up. I love this feature the most and the main reason I love this speaker. -Bass output is strong and pretty articulate. Much deeper and powerful than I would have ever expected. Like seriously, it is not bad at bass output at all. -Overall sound is pretty even and clean but not without a few flaws. Cons: -No battery power -No auxillary hookup -Using wi-fi only goes through the app, and the app doesn't let you use Spotify without a subscription. -Bluetooth cuts out about 30 foot away and through a wall. I like this thing more and more. I think the sweet spot in pricing is $75. Anything less is gravy. At Best Buy it is $175, I don't think it is worth that much.

I like the speakers (I bought a pair), but I wish they were battery operated. That is the only reason for not getting a higher rating from me. If that isn’t a factor for you, then you will likely be pleased with them. The listing said portable, and in my haste I took that to mean battery operated, but apparently they need to be plugged into a wall outlet. However, beyond that, the sound is good, nice volume, they are easy to set-up, they pair nicely, and when used with wi-fi they can be synced anywhere within range of your wi-fi (while you too are in range of the same wi-fi system). I am keeping these, but will likely purchase a different speaker too, one run by battery for the portability factor.
