I like the Sony camera system and have had 4 now, with the DSC-W370 being the latest. Sonly has corrected much in the way they assemble the camera and this is reflected in the 370 where the battery is with a simple slide lock. The camera has become easier to use and understand and offers outstanding motion picture and low light capabilities. I would like to see the camera a little sturdier but it seems like most digital cameras on the market in this regard. What it does offer is a superior camera with a superior lens and I will probably upgrade this when newer models come out with a newer Sony. Sony's customer service people have a take it or leave it attitude and were abrupt. This could be better and because of this fact I cannot give the camera an excellent.
I love everything about it. The shutter speed is sooo much better than the one I had for years. This is my 3rd Sony Cybershot. I photograph my horses and they don't pose. Catching a headset an ears up, neck arched perfect picture is a second away from ears back, neck down dumb look. This camera catches it. My husband is grateful. He was sick of trying to get the right pose with a stud colt that is never still, for a sale ad. Try wrestling 1000 lbs and telling them to be patient while a camera auto-focuses. LOVE this one I get the right picture so much more often. People with toddlers will love it for the same reason. Got dogs? The same, when you say "awww how cute" you have a chance of catching it before they move. The price is great, I don't have a thousand dollars for a camera. It would pay a stud fee and give me a beautiful foal to love and show. Priorities! If yours are fast forward like mine, this camera gives you the perfect balance. I slip it in my pocket when I go to the barn or on a trail ride. It's always ready to catch the perfect picture that I will treasure for years. It goes in my purse side pocket. I can grab a picture of a product, or share pictures of my horses or property and that I keep on my memory stick like a photo gallery. I get great shots for my Facebook page. If you are considering it I say I am totally loving my camera and would recommend it to anyone. I bought one for my daughter for Christmas and bought one for my sister-in-law a few months ago. She loves hers. Let the camera geeks spend their money on expensive cameras, for those of us that just want a great camera to fit into their everyday life, this is it.Read full review
I bought the SONY CYBER-SHOT W370 RED 1 month ago and was immediately impressed with the quality of the resolution of this camera. I bought it because I really needed one. The photo is taken while in 14.1 MP really is very clean and the video recording quality is great. The size is really small it fits in a pocket handy to carry and enjoy the best moments. The price also is very good accessible to all. The function also shoot smile does not leave much to be desired where you can plan on how long you want it despare. The only thing I saw was when I did not like the way you take take pictures to see the photos really hits takes a few seconds undesirable. Sure I'd buy this camera again. Overall, I would recommend this camera, of course if you are within your budget.
I purchased this camera due to the 14.1 mega pixels and the digital and optical zoom abilities. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a camera that was easy to use and better than I expected. This camera takes clear, sharp pictures with very little motion distortion. I was able to capture my grandsons action as they opened gifts this Christmas without using any special features or tripod. For close up stills, this camera also excels. In addition to all this it comes with a rechargeable battery that lasts quite a long time between charges. All in all a great find for the price.
On the surface, the specs-to-price ratio of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W370 is excellent. It has a 14-megapixel resolution, a 7x zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD, supports 720p HD movie capture, and has an HDMI output for quickly connecting to an HDTV--all for less than $230. The W370 is sort of the update to 2009's overall excellent W290; however, the model actually has more in common with the 2010 W350. The "on the surface" qualifier is because it's not immediately apparent where Sony cut corners to get the price low. For example, Sony has three classes of lenses; from lowest-end to highest, it's Sony, Carl Zeiss, and Sony G. The W370 has a Sony lens--and not terribly wide one, if that matters to you. This camera also doesn't use Sony's Bionz image processor, which helps explain the increased image noise at higher ISO sensitivities and its slow shooting performance. If you're after a Sony compact with very good photos and shooting performance, go with the W350. If you're in love with the idea of a reasonably priced camera with a 7x optical zoom in a compact body, the W370 is worth checking out, but it's not without sacrifice.Read full review
