I bought these headphones after doing some online research and was impressed by some of the reviews I read. My purchase was specifically for my son as a surprise gift who is an online gamer and literally wears headphones for up to 12 hours in a day. He has told me he was impressed with my purchase and states they are light and comfortable to wear with good sound quality and nice battery life.

Would not recommend to use it with Nintendo Switch. It works as a headset only when it wired to the console. The mic does not work when the headset is wireless. As per SteelSeries website you can use the 3 pole 3.5 mm cable to make it wireless on switch but it would work only for the headphones but not the mic. Tried 4 pole cable. Same result. Also due to a bad production design standard cable can not fit in the the transmitter. You need the ones with the smaller size of the barrel.

This is only the third gaming headset I've bought (and the second from SteelSeries) but it's by far the best I've ever used. The wireless functionality is excellent, I can walk 10 metres or more from the transmitter and still have good signal with two walls between me and the source. A feature I especially like is the line-out jack on the transmitter, which means that when the headphones are off, your audio comes out of your speakers as per normal, but the moment your headphones are turned on the sound automatically routes to them. No software, no settings, it just does it, and vice versa when you turn them off. Also, if you walk out of range while wearing the headphones, they reconnect automatically once you walk back within range, excellent. By far my favourite feature though is that there's an LED on the retractable boom mike, which turns red when you have your microphone muted (pushbutton switch at the rear of the left cup). This is an outstanding design feature. Never again will I mute my mic so that I can talk to someone outside the room, then resume gaming and wonder why my teammates aren't answering me. Also worth noting that the LED doesn't light up during normal operation, so don't be worried about distracting lights blinking in your field of vision, that hasn't happened once. Another feature that's very fun is a dial on the right hand cup that can change the balance of audio between VOIP and normal output. So if you're gaming or listening to music while on a skype call, turning the dial can turn down your game/music while leaving the audio from the call unaffected. I found this very useful for listening to music while on a very boring but neccesary skype call with parents, without drowning them out. The comfort is very good, I've worn them for several six hour sessions over the last week and I didn't notice any overheating or discomfort at the end. Nothing to complain of in the sound quality, and battery life is excellent, though I haven't done a stress test yet I've used them two nights in a row without recharging. All inRead full review

For the money, can't beat this. PnP is immediate, and no confusing it with other USB attached devices as in W10 it doesn't show up in the taskbar. Semi rigid cable folds away neatly, all round a smart usable product

Easy to set up, good battery life, great mic. Sound quality needs adjusting via equalizer, default isn't great. Virtual 7.1 surround not as good as hoped, coming from actual 7.1
