Nice high quality portable Blu-Ray/Media player. Just right for my needs.
This Blu-Ray/Media player produces a very nice picture, although I noticed that dark scenes are a little too dark. Not so bad that you can't see the images at all. (There is a picture adjustment mode but it is limited) The sound is not very good on the built in speakers. It is much better if you hook up external speakers or ear-phones. One of my favorite features is that besides using Blu-Rays, DVDs and CDs, I can watch videos or listen to music with the USB/FLASH DRIVE and SD ports. I will be using the SD card slot as an on the spot monitor for videos I create with my camcorder. Built in power supply is OK but in most cases doesn't hold a charge for more than 2 hours. For the price (I Paid $120.00) it is a very nice unit. Another factor I like is that it seems to be solid and the knobs and controls are study and not cheaply made... it has a remote control to boot. The Sylvania Portable Blu-Ray player is one of the few units made that afford the viewer the chance to play back both regular DVD's and Blu Ray variants. It remains a well-built device that supplies a very satisfying image quality with good sound playback and most importantly, a reasonable price. Though there are a few premium brand names that build comparable products, their costs are quite simply exhorbitant. It's worth the money.
My refurbished blue ray player arrived today. I'm quite impressed. I gave it a 5 star rating although it could have been built with bass and treble adjustments for the sound. The dark scenes are very dark as well. They could have built a brightness adjustment into the machine as well; but I'm getting far too criticle for the money I spent. Amazing Bluray player!!
