Cheap efficient way of expanding my home internet connection.

Purchased the TP link AV-600 with a little bit of apprehension that it would not work. I wanted to connect my older Foxtel cable box to the internet so i watch on demand programs. As i did not have an internet point in the theater room and the box does not have WiFi, i thought this might be a simple and cheap option. When it arrived it was as easy as ABC !! Plugged the units in and paired them up. Then i connected the supplied Ethernet lead to the router, then went to the theater room and connected the other supplied Ethernet lead to the Foxtel box. Turned on Foxtel and hey presto internet connection made, and downloaded a 1hr program in roughly 3 minutes. I was amazed! GOOD POINTS; Inexpensive. Very easy to set up. Discreet piece of equipment. Supplied cables are plenty long enough. Seems to work fine even tho instructions say they both have to be plugged into same electrical circuit (I live in a new build home if it makes any difference) You add more TP-Links to the circuit if you need to. NOT SO GOOD POINTS; Even tho its small its still a squeeze to get the TP link in and another plug into the double power point. You do lose a power point with it plugged in. There are other products that have a socket on them but you pay more. Summary. The TP-Link AV600 is a great bit of kit and it did exactly what i wanted, a cheap and easy way of getting a good internet connection into another room without having to pay someone to run cables through my house and install internet points. Highly recommend.

    Dont know

Plugged the units in and had no benefit. Don't have time at present to go through the fault finding process. Selling info made it sound easy to set up but my experience was not so.

  • Value for money Ethernet over Powerline adapter

Easy to use - truly plug and play and very reasonably priced, Good size as well and compact enough to fix into very small places

  • Surprisingly effective

I did everything wrong. Plugged into double adapter, down extension lead to power point-out to switchboard-down different circuit 50 metres to cabin-through sub switchboard down circuit to smart tv and still works a treat. It took minutes to set up and provides double the speed far more consistently than wifi I was using previously. This product has far exceeded expectations, I have already ordered a couple more.

  • Great speed of data transfer, setup is pretty easy

Setup as easy as plug and play. Only drawback is width of the device, you cannot plug anything else on the adjacent socket(can live with it). Over all great value for money.

  • Good Value For Money

One of the Cons is It is a Little Bit Big But it Does a Good Job, it was easy to Set Up and the Print Quality is Very Good, Better than the Brother I upgraded From, Quite Happy

  • Good product

I actually didn't know such a product existed until one day a colleague of mine told me about it. Up until then I was actually using a 30ft cat5 cable to connect my desktop to the router - and my wife kept complaining about how horrible it looked. It is quite well priced - albeit more expensive then running a cable. But, if you can't put a cable through it is good to have. It does sometimes act up when it looses connection and I usually have to wait a bit for the connection to come up.
